Proximal extrahepatic bile ducts are the biliary tree segment within formal boundaries from cystic ductcommon hepatic duct junction to sectoral ducts. Despite being a focus of attention diagnostic and interventional radiologists, endoscopists, hepatobiliary surgeons transplantologists they weren’t comprehensively described in available papers. The majority authors regard confluence as group merging primitively arranged tubes providing flow. information on proximal embryonal development, variant anatomy, innervation, arterial, venous lymphatic supply is too general not detailed. present review brought together systemized exiting date data anatomy function this tract portion. Unique, different hollow organs organization adapts them flow bile, i.e. viscous aggressive due pH about 8.0 detergents fluid, under higher wall pressure than other parts tree.
